Committed to Educating Clients So They Can Make Informed Decisions

When facing divorce, custody concerns, support issues, or other family law matters, many people are unsure where to begin.

A consultation with Joan Berry Nassar, P.A. is designed to help you understand your options before making any major decisions about your future.

Rather than assuming litigation is the answer, Joan will take the time to learn about your circumstances, explain the legal issues involved, and help you evaluate the various paths available to you—including mediation, collaborative divorce, and traditional legal representation.

The goal is simple:
To provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions about what comes next.

What Happens During the Consultation?

Your consultation is a one-on-one meeting with Joan Berry Nassar, P.A.

During this conversation, Ms. Nassar will listen carefully to your concerns, gather information about your situation, and help you understand how Florida family law may apply to your case.
Topics may include:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Child custody and parenting plans
  • Child support
  • Alimony
  • Division of assets and debts
  • Post-divorce modifications
  • Family law disputes and concerns

If children are involved, potential parenting arrangements and timesharing schedules may be discussed.

If financial information is available, child support and alimony calculations may be reviewed.

Most importantly, Joan will help you understand the different processes available for resolving your matter and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Understanding Your Options

Many people schedule a consultation believing they need an attorney, only to discover that mediation or collaborative divorce may be a better fit.

Others begin by hoping to avoid litigation but learn that legal representation may be necessary to protect their interests.

Part of Ms. Nassar’s role is helping you evaluate:

Mediation

A neutral, non-adversarial process that helps participants work together to resolve issues such as divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and property division without going to court.

Collaborative Divorce

A structured, team-based approach where both spouses work with collaboratively trained attorneys and other professionals to resolve disputes outside of litigation.

Family Law Representation

Traditional legal representation for situations where court involvement, legal advocacy, or protection of legal rights is necessary.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer.

The right approach depends on your family, your goals, your circumstances, and the level of conflict involved.

Joan will help you understand the options so you can choose the path that best supports your future.
