Joan Berry Nassar is a member of the Brevard Collaborative Association, a local group of attorneys, mental health neutrals and financial professionals who handle divorces in a different and unique way.
The collaborative process is a team approach that allows the participants to consider their financial and parenting options and make their own decisions in a private, non-adversarial environment, not the courtroom. Though the collaborative process was created in 1990 in Minnesota, Florida, the Florida legislature recognized it in 2017.
More family law attorneys are participating in the process as part of their practice and more people are asking about the collaborative process. The Brevard Collaborative Association is creating awareness of the collaborative process in our community. Please see the recently published article in Space Coast Living.
